IMPLEMENTATION OF LIVELIHOOD RESTORATION PLAN – BISHKEK SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROJECT

RWA is helping Bishkek Municipality with implementation of the Livelihood Restoration Plan designed for the waste pickers that are currently working on the existing waste dumpsite. RWA consultants are working on enhancing entitlements for the informal waste workers including access to social services, health care and education, at the same time as providing access to vocational training, job fairs and alternative employment opportunities. Also, our role is to strengthen the capacities of local and national authorities related to providing support for waste pickers and other vulnerable groups.
